Mood: Pleasantly chilled!
7th January 2006
Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen
Wind Direction: SE
Wind Stength: 15 to 18 mph
Surf / Sea State: Flat
Air Temperature: Cool
Sea Temperature: Cool
Weather: OK
Max Speed: 25 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Arrived nice and early in order to catch the tide as soon as it was light. Blowing a steady 15 to 18 mph. Got kit ready while still dark, ready to leap onto the water as soon as it was light. Jim and I got on the water at 8:30am, and had a great couple of hours or so before the wind started to tail off. It was Jim's first sail for 2 1/2 months since he cracked a couple of ribs by catapaulting on to the boom in shallow water, so he was well up for it. Perfect big kit blasting conditions, and with the water being flat, it was ideal carve gybe pracice conditions as well. Managed 27mph max speed on my Navman 300, which I was pleased at, as it wasn't that windy.
